Barcelona Part 2

Well I was looking through my photo's from Barcelona again and decided to do another post on it. I took so many photo's I wanted to share some more with you. Firstly I am not a fan of flying at all but I did manage to take this picture of the sun setting while above the clouds.

I also had lot's of photo's of food so here is a picture of the first of many Paella's I had while there.

We also found that you could not get a small drink in Barcelona. They all came in fishbowl size. There was hardly enough room on the table for our food!

Here is another picture from the food market Mercado de La Boqueria. It was completely rammed with fresh food and some of it was still alive!

Here are some more pictures of some of the beautiful tourist sites that we saw. This is the magic fountain of montjuïc. Unfortunately we didn't get to see it all lit up as we were staying a bit too far out to walk there in the evening but we did go by it on the bus tour.

We also passed many amazing churches and statues. This was the Mirador de Colom. Which is a 60 metre tall monument constructed in honour of Columbus first voyage to the Americas.

I'm not completely sure where abouts I took this photo but I thought it was a bit arty so thought I would share.

This is a photo of the doors to one of the banks in Barcelona. As usual it was very grand and the doors reminded me a little of Gringotts Bank from Harry Potter so I thought I would take a picture. lol!

And I think I have made this post long enough so I will just share one more photo which is a picture of a picture of a picture. As we couldn't take any photo's in Museu Picasso I got a print from the shop. This is a print of Picasso's personal secretary Jaime Sabartés who helped to develop the collection at the Museum.

Thanks for reading. Will post again soon. S x

Wedding and BBQ fun

This weekend was lovely but a busy one as usual, well Saturday was Sunday was mainly spent on the sofa being lazy and a little hung over. We went to a friends BBQ Saturday afternoon where J got cuddles with baby Esme.

A lovely afternoon was spent with great food and company and after I left to go to a friends Wedding reception I believe that's when more beers were had and the snakes came out!

I then went on to Nassington to join my work mates for the lovely Kate's wedding reception. She looked absolutely gorgeous.

The outfit I decided to wear was one that I brought it Barcelona. We did a little bit of shopping on our last day and I got quite a few nice bits from Zara including this high-waisted fitted pencil skirt and cropped top but I didn't get a picture of me in it so here it is on the hangers! lol!

And of course I had to take a selfie. Here is one of me with Jen before the wine!

I was a bit poorly last week so I haven't been up to much else other than catching up on my TV programs that I missed. I am a little bit obsessed with Once Upon a Time and very sad that The Good Wife has now finished but I have so many books to read that I have plenty to keep me busy. I started reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Lee Harper on the plane to Barcelona as it is it's 50th Anniversary and I have never read it. I always read reviews of books in magazines and on blogs and this one came up as one to read quite a few times so I thought it was about time I did! I'm half way through and so far so good.

2 Years and counting

Today is our 2 year Wedding Anniversary. It feels strange celebrating 2 years when we have been together nearly 10 but it's always nice to look back on our lovely wedding day.

I have not been feeling great today so as I have been on the sofa most of the day catching up on all the TV I missed last week including Nashville and The Good Wife, I decided to watch our wedding video and looking through photo's from our lovely day. This is one of my favourite photo's from the day.

This photo was taken in the grounds of our beautiful venue at Barnsdale Lodge. The weather was not the best but it held out long enough so that our photographer Chris Brudenell could get some great pictures.

I love this picture of me and my lovely bridesmaids. These photo's always make me smile I had the best day.

The song that I walked down the isle too was an acoustic version of Bruno Marz, Just the Way you are which was so lovely there were tears all round. We didn't really do presents this year as we decided to do a bit of shopping while in Barcelona, I spent a small fortune in Zara and J got some limited edition Converse.  Anyways I didn't want to write a long post today so I will leave you with a picture of the lovely roses my hubby brought for me.

Barcelona

So I haven't posted this last week because we have been away for a few days celebrating our wedding anniversary in Barcelona. Last year we didn't really celebrate as we were too busy renovating the house so this year we decided to have a little mini break. Why Barcelona? Well, a few reasons really, the first being that it is only a 2 hour flight. It is a city with a beach, it was 27 degrees all week and we had both never been there so it was a place to tick off the list.

I must say though that it wasn't the most relaxing of breaks as we did so much walking that I need a new pair of legs as mine are broken! The problem is we wanted to see everything so to squeeze it all in meant a lot of walking and I think we did actually see everything as I have 350 photo's to prove it! lol! Here are a few of my favs.

You couldn't turn the corner in Barcelona without seeing some amazing architectural buildings, Statues or fountains, which is why I took so many photo's, it is such a beautiful place with lot's to see. A lot of the tourist attractions were only about 30 minutes walk from our hotel so we managed to see quite a few of them.
This was the Arc de Triomf.

This area was surrounded by a lovely park that took you almost down to the beach right past the zoo. We also saw this when we did the usual tourist thing of getting on the tour bus! We managed to see a lot of the sights on the bus which did save our legs a little. But we did end up getting off to stop at the Camp Nou F.C Barcelona. Which made the hubby very happy!

Two of my favourite places we visited were Museu Picasso and Sagrada Familia. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take any pictures in the Museum but it was amazing. Over 4000 pieces of art by Picasso & some of Salvador Dali's too. It was such a large collection and so many random pieces as he also experimented with pottery and sculptures too which I didn't know. We had quite a trek to see Sagrada Familia created by Gaudi but it was worth it.  The detail was ridiculous, it was so grand and gothic it's a shame he didn't get to finish it.

We also found the food market which was jam packed with fresh fruit, fish and meats of every kind. Some a little exotic...

and some more familiar...

I won't babble on much more, I had a lovely time but I need a holiday to get over my holiday. I will leave you with the view from our roof top pool as I am off now to watch hours of TV to catch up on all the programs I have missed while away.

Babies & Burgers

This week has been full of good news, 2 of my very good friends announced they were pregnant and are due around the same time. Eek!!We had a little get together on Friday to have a catch up and talk babies which was lovely as I haven't seen most of the girls in a while. I am so excited for these 2 lovely ladies. Can't wait to meet the new little ones that are joining our group.

Talking of little ones, I also got plenty of cuddles with this little cheeky chappie on Friday. I hadn't seen him for a little while so I was hogging him a little but I just couldn't resist that face! Every time I pulled the camera out he just pulled faces, he knew I wanted to get that cheeky smile but he wasn't having any of it!

I also went into town to get a few bits for holiday yesterday and had lunch with the bestie Amy at the new Homemade Burger Co that opened a few weeks ago in town. I had heard a lot of good things so I was really looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint. I couldn't decide which one to go for as they all looked good so I went for 3! lol!

Well that's all from me today, just a quick post this week as I left it a bit late and Magic Mike is on and is some what distracting me! lol!

Thanks for reading, will post again soon. S x

Wedding Season has begun!

This weekend we had the first wedding of the year. Over the last few years we have had at least 6 weddings a year and this year seems to be shaping up to be another busy one. To kick off the wedding season we had a family wedding. We celebrated the wedding of Emily & Adrian at Slepe Hall Hotel in St Ives.

It was a lovely day and the sun was shining which is always good but not so good when your trying to take photo's. It was a little too sunny so I will have to edit a lot of my photo's but we had such a nice day that I thought I would share a few pictures with you.

I thought I would start with the beautiful flowers that they had. The sunflowers were a lovely touch to the sunny day and they had little packs of sunflower seeds as favours which was a really cute touch. And here of course is a picture of the happy couple.

Also it wouldn't be a wedding without a selfie and as per usual I can't get Jason to take a nice one so here is another silly selfie to add to the collection! lol!

Today was spent mostly recovering after a few too many glasses of pimms and wine yesterday so we spent most of the time in the garden doing a bit of sunbathing and reading. I have now finally finished the book I have been reading for what seems like forever. The other Boleyn girl which was such a good read but I do sometimes struggle to read books when I already kind of know the story. I have so many books to read now I can't decide what to pick up next.

We also purchased some garden furniture today. We have been on the look out for a new table and chairs set and Homebase had 15% off this weekend so we picked up this set to go on the decking. The Garden is really coming along now just need to get some plants and a few more pots and then we are done.

Well that's all from me tonight. I have caught the sun a bit today so off to bed now.
Thanks for reading, I will post again soon. S x

Summer is coming...

This weeks weather has got me all excited about my busy summer ahead and with summer comes beautiful sunsets. Last night I went out for dinner with the bestie Amy to the Cuckoo at Alwalton for vintage pie night .It was lovely but as usual we ate way too much so I took Reg for a quick walk down by the river when I got home to walk off the pie! Here's last nights sunset...

In the spirit of summer I also purchased some shorts ready for my holiday. I know they are black so not very summery but I love the cute patterns on them. These are from ASOS and H&M.

I also completely ran out of perfume this week so rather than go for the usual Vera Wang that I normally wear I decided to go old school and brought some DKNY. DKNY is one of the very first perfumes I used to wear, I like this one as it has a very light fruity fragrance and it helps that it was nearly half price at boots!

This week hasn't been the most relaxing week though as my little Reg has not been very well. I was hoping that as the week went on he would improve but if anything he has been worse today bless him. I think another trip to the vets is on the cards as you can see he is not a very happy boy.

I kind of started blogging as I'm one of those people that can't just sit and do nothing. I like to be busy but I have found that, this week especially, I have not been able to just switch off and relax and it's really taking it's toll so I saw this on Amazon and thought it was a bit random but also kind of cute. It's an adult colouring book. I told you it was random! I read somewhere that they are a good way to de-stress and relax so I thought I would give it a go!

Thanks for reading. I will post again soon. S x
