Another year older...

So I can't believe 2 things have come round so quickly this year....the first thing is only the second time but just as fantastic if not more so than the first, London Fashion Week 2016, and the other, well I would rather it be a smaller number but hey we all have to get older!

So as I have been completely rubbish at updating my blog there are a few things I have been up to but not shared.

Firstly my brother in law got married a few months ago and it was such a lovely day. The Cook men are such big softies when it comes to weddings!

I also got absolutely soaked at Sundown festival so much so we left a little early & ended up in Pizza Hut drinking tea! (& of course lot's of pizza)
I can safely say that festivals are much more fun when the weather is good.

So...London Fashion Week! Where do I begin. Well I couldn't of been happier it was a mental busy, longest day ever but was so much fun I loved every minute of it especially that I got to do it with my bestie. Here are a few of my fav pics from the day.

I had such a fantastic time back stage at the Sabinna girl show taking photos for Faby UK.

The make-up and clothes were great I may have brought myself a jumper from the collection at the pop up shop at Browns Hotel  in Mayfair later that evening. Woops!

And then there was this weekend just gone. I had such a lovely time with friends having early birthday celebrations. I feel very lucky to have such lovely thoughtful people in my life.
I was having too much of a good time to remember to take pictures but the girls made me carry these bad boys round town with me all night!

I promise more pictures to come as the Birthday celebrations have only just begun.

Climbing Mountains

I've taken a break from blogging this last few months for various reasons but hey I am definitely back now and I have so much to write about. I'll start with my most recent escapades...

As you can probably tell by the title of this blog, I climbed a mountain. Mount Snowden to be precise. I have to say that I think it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. The view on the way up was breathtaking and an absolute delight to walk up.

We weren't even that bothered when we got rained on a little when we first started as it was just so beautiful. We were told to be prepared for all weather and they weren't wrong it changed so many times as we were climbing higher & higher but still the views were amazing.

It wasn't all plain sailing though as we got to about 2 hours in and the fog decended the path almost disappeared and it turned into actual climbing. It got quiet scary at points especially when you couldn't see more than 10 steps ahead of you but I had my partner in crime with me, the hubby, who was my rock (no pun intended) and he got me up that mountain. You couldn't see a thing through the fog but we made it and that's all that matters.

Considering we did little to no research other than what gorgeous little B&B we were going to book, I'm amazed we made it. I also thought it would be ok to go in my primark trainers (not my brightest idea.) We later found out that we had actually not picked the easiest route by going on the miners track. All in all it was so tough but such an awesome thing to do. I will never forget it.

Wales is such a beautiful picturesque place to stay. We couldn't turn the corner without seeing another scenic view. We stayed in the cutest B&B in Betws-y-coed called Bod Gwynedd.

The owners were so lovely and the room was so chic I loved it. We are now looking to buy a new bed as this was so comfy I wish I could've taken it with me.

We also checked out a few of the local waterfalls in the area. This was Conwy falls. Absolutely loving my new camera as you can tell by the picture quality it's just so much better than my last one but more on that in my next post.

I'm Back

So it has been a couple of months since I last posted so I thought it was about time I shared a little about what I have been up to. I have been a busy bee the last few months but have just been a bit rubbish with blogging about it. First things first, I went to see Ellie Goulding in Nottingham with my sister. As always she was fantastic, she always puts on a good show and a lot of thought is always put into the stage and dancing. I got a few hundred pictures as usual but this is a time when I wish I had a better zoom or even a better camera! (hint hint husband!)

Although I can't really complain this camera still takes pretty good pictures.

Me and the husband took a day trip to London to go to the British Museum and to have a little shop of course. Here are a few pics of some of the exhibits.

There was so much to look at that I'm sure we didn't see all the exhibits but it was a nice day out all be it a little cold. Even the ceilings were amazingly detailed, I don't think I have ever taken pictures of the ceiling before but they were so beautiful. We are going to do the National Museum in the summer so can't wait for that one.

We also had a visit from this gorgeous little girl who recently turned 1 years old. Here she is having a selfie with her uncle Jason.

Well this post could end up a long one so I will save some bit's for my next post. Just one last exciting bit of news, well for me any ways, that we have booked Disney Land Paris for my birthday this year as it is a big one!

Smile. Focus. Capture.

I have only really started taking photo's in the last year but it has quickly become a hobby that I love. I have always been a little bit creative so I don't really know why I didn't pick it up sooner but since I got a half decent camera just over a year ago I have taken thousands of photos's.

I was reminded just how much I love photography this weekend when I got the opportunity to go to London Fashion Week to take some photo's of Faby Uk nails on some of the models. As well as experiencing the backstage madness we also got to watch the fashion show. It was an amazing day and I had massive camera envy of all the professionals.

The show itself was every bit as fabulous as I thought it would be and the clothes were lovely too. The backstage area was jam packed with make up artists, hair stylists, nail technicians as well as the models, designers, photographers and the people trying to organize the chaos it was such madness but I loved it. I could not of been happier.

This was just one of the make-up areas in the room.

We also got some of the models to pose and show off the lovely nails that the technicians managed to do while the models were also getting their hair and make up done. They made it look very easy but I'm sure it wasn't.

While we watched the rehearsal all I could think is how amazing it would be to be one of those photographers sat on the floor at the end of the run way. One can always dream eh!

Faby launched in the UK yesterday and as you can see from these photo's they are lovely products.

Anyways I could ramble on and on about this as I had such a lovely time but back to reality this week!

Love is in the Air

This weekend has had me reflecting on all the things I am loving at the moment. As well as it being valentines day I got to visit Rutland Waters and take some beautiful pictures.

I also got to spend plenty of quality time with this one...

We spent most of valentines day eating chocolate and watching movies but it was just what I needed as this last few months have been so busy it's nice to relax and chill.

A few other things that I have been loving lately is trying out new make up. I have been in desperate need of a new foundation and after trying a few lately I finally found one that I quite like. I really struggle with foundations as I can't seem to find a liquid foundation that blends in as well as giving good coverage. This Rimmel London one blends quite well and seems to suit my skin type. I'm not sure it really lasts 8 hours let alone 25 but It feels really nice on and is not a bad price either.

I am also loving my new Faby nail varnish and can't wait to get more colours. I love this colour and can't wait to get more to add to my collection.

February is now here so it is about time I got off my bum and did some exercise. As I have not really been able to go jogging much I decided to buy myself an exercise bike and start getting fit again. I have been getting on the bike at least 4 times a week and doing 10 miles at a time and I am feeling a lot better for it. I especially love the fact that I can watch TV and stay in he warm while I do it and it folds away so doesn't take up much room.

While doing my miles I have been watching some good TV. The Good Wife is back on as well as War and Peace on BBC which was absolutely brilliant and now the Bake off is on for a few weeks too as well as trying to watch Luther in between all this as I can't watch it on my own as I am a scaredy cat!

All things Silver

The new year saw me and the hubby making a long list of all the things we want to do this year and a lot of the things on the list are things to do to the house. The first 6 months we moved in we did quite a bit to get it up to date but 2015 turned into a very busy year so the momentum slowed down a bit. So we decided to start as we mean to go on this year so we are finishing off the living room.

I have always wanted a lovely Oak Bookcase so we ordered one of these and a sideboard to match and of course this meant I had to get some pretty things to put on them. I went a bit mad on the silver woops!

You can never have too many candle holders...

Most of these bits are from Next but the Globe is from Dunelm. I can't wait to get them all on the bookcase now along with all the books of course.

Buying cute bits for the house is probably the fun part for me. This weekend is door painting and wallpapering so not quite so fun but I'm looking forward to seeing the house get finished off and filling it with lovely things.

I found myself feeling a bit anxious at the thought of change this week but shopping always helps with this! lol! I've always been a bit of a worrier and struggle to be confident in my decisions but I am looking forward to the adventures that 2016 will bring. This quote always makes me feel better.

LOVE Christmas

It has been a few weeks since my last post. I had planned to do one just after Christmas but to be honest this year Christmas was so full on I just didn't get time. I don't really know where to start... So lets rewind to a few days before Christmas. I did a little family photo shoot for Bex and he lovely little family. Here are a few of my favourites.

I took about 300 photo's most of which were all different as Charlie as a little wriggle bum. He was not in the best of moods this evening but we still managed to get some good ones.

We spent Christmas Eve down the pub with all of Jason's mates which was really nice. Christmas day went by in a blur of Proseco and way too much food as always. I forgot to take my camera to the Cook's in the morning so there was no pictures of Jason winning the 2015 Cook Arm wrestling Cup but the competition was close this year!

I did however manage to get a nice cheesy photo at the Johnson's. The dog's were already asleep at this point so we decided to do the pic without them this year.

My sister's Dog was not all that well over Christmas so he had to stay home and missed out on the traditional Christmas Day walk.

Boxing Day was another family and friends day. We spent the afternoon at Jason's brothers playing games and eating the nicest gluten free cheesecake I have ever had, then in the evening we went onto my mate Amy's for a few more drinks and games. Dani also got to have her first cuddle with baby Charlie which was really sweet.

After this we then spent the next few days in Plymouth for one of Jason's mates wedding's. It was absolutely awful weather with storm Frank sending wind and rain our way all day but it was such a lovely day that didn't matter. Here are a few of my favourite pics of the lovely couple Ash & Emma.

Yes that is the photographers camera you can see in the bottom of the picture. I may have followed her about a little. lol!

And I got one of the boys all together. They scrub up alright don't they!

Of course a selfie had to be taken, the last one of 2015. I'm thinking a hair colour change in 2016... I'm not sure Cristina will be frilled to hear that though. lol!

Looking back over my post's this year has made me realise that I have had a lot of fun times and have such lovely people in my life but sometimes it's hard to see that through all the other stuff so I'm glad I have this blog as a reminder. I hope 2016 is just as good. I'll keep you posted.
