Autumn walks and pumpkins

Autumn has arrived! Yeahy! This is my favourite time of year. The tree's turn beautiful shades of orange and yellow, lot's of cosy nights in with candles and Netflix and lovely autumnal shades of clothes and make up.

I love a nice walk with Reg at this time of year. Especially with his new little friend Rosie.

The last few weeks I have spent a lot of time on the sofa resting. Which is boring as hell but I have had some lovely company from this grumpy little man.

This last week we have watched the first series of House of Cards (which I wasn't too sure on in the beginning but I love it now) The first series of Peaky Blinders (again!) Because it is just brilliant and half of my new book. I am in need of some fresh air and exercise which I have started to do a bit more now but I am still dying to go for a jog again!

I love the clothes and make up for this season. Lot's of woolly jumpers and boots of which I have lot's of but never enough of course! lol! It's been ages since I got myself a decent mascara and I have sold quite a bit on ebay recently so I decided to use some of my earnings from that to get myself this Dior mascara and I love it!

I also got myself some new eye shadow too as I don't often wear any so thought it would be a nice change. I tend to not be too fused about makes and more bothered about if they are good. I knew the Dior was good as my mate Dan has it so I had already tried it and knew it was worth the monies. So I walked around boots for about 20 minutes trying every eye shadow I could find on the back of my hand! lol!

and obviously I had to get myself a jumper to really get that autumnal look! This beaut is from H&M of course. They should give me discount for the amount of money I spend there! Oh wait... they do! lol!

I also spent my weekend painting pumpkins. Yes painting not carving. I spend a lot of time on Pintrest, as I'm sure everyone does, and came across the idea which I thought was great as I like being creative and this way there is no mess. I already had some paints from a little project I have going so I used these to paint some scary and not so scary pumpkins. I will leave you with a picture of one of the cute pumpkins I painted. I will post the scary ones next week.

Once upon a time...

This week has mainly been spent on the sofa so I decided it was time to get reading again, in between watching House of Cards on Netflix. So I recently finished reading Go Set a Watchman which is the sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird. It didn't grab me like To Kill a Mockingbird did but I'm glad I read it anyways.

I have been at a loss as to what to read since then. I did read a couple of pages of The Hobbit but gave up as I want to read something that I can't put down not something that I have to keep making myself read. I like fantasy novels but I don't think this is my cup of tea.

I love this saying. I want to feel this way about every book I read but I know that's not always going to be the case. The main times I have felt this way is on holiday when I have been reading by the pool as this is the only time I have really been able to get fully engrossed in a book. Two that really stick out for me are Twilight and P.S I love you. Both very mushy love stories as I am a romantic at heart and quite different to what I have been reading lately.

I have been reading a lot more 'Grown up' books lately and to carry on with that trend I decided to read a book I got for my birthday this year from my mate Dani. It's called Lean in by Sheryl Sandberg. It's not really the kind of book I would normally go for but I have decided to give it a go. 2 Chapters in and the jury is still out but I am going to continue reading.

I always like to have plenty to read in the house and always keep a pile of magazines and catalogue's in the living room for general browsing but the pile was getting a bit big so I had a clear out today and managed to cut it down a bit.

So on that note I am going to put my PJ's on a get myself a nice cuppa and have a read.

Thanks for reading. Will post again soon. S x

Birthday time take 2

As my birthday landed on a Monday this year I had the excuse of being able to celebrate it over 2 weekends! So this weekend one of the Besties came back from London and spent the weekend with me & Amy. We went to Stamford yesterday for some dinner at Cosy Club and then we had a few drinks after. The food was really good. Especially the free desserts we got courtesy of Amy.

Normally I take lot's of photo's but I have been a bit slack lately. I did take this one of the 3 of us though although my phone camera is not the best quality it was still a cute pic.

As a little gift for them being the first guests at Casa de Cook I got the girls some mugs with our initials on them for them to have their morning coffee's in. They coincidentally spelt out a word lol!

I did say in my last post that I would share some pictures of some of the gift's I got for my birthday. I was a very spoilt girl this year especially by my family. The hubby got me a Pandora ring and my parents got me a charm for my bracelet.

My parents also got me a dress and the sister blister got my this jumper from Topshop. Well technically she got me a different jumper and I changed it but it still counts! lol!

I also did a bit of shopping and treat myself. It would of been rude not too. Although I must of been in a dark mood as I did not buy anything with colour!

After Dani went home today me and the hubby went for lunch in Somersham at a really quaint little pub called the windmill then we visited the in laws. I then spent the rest of the afternoon with my bum firmly attached to the sofa watching friends.

Thanks for reading. I will post again soon. S x

Birthday Time!

Yesterday was my Birthday! As this year it landed on a Monday it was a little bit of a non-event but it also gives me the excuse to celebrate it the weekend before and after!

The weekend just gone the hubby booked a table at our wedding venue. We went with my sister and her fiancĂ©. I love going back to Barnsdale Lodge as the food and service is always great and it always brings back such lovely memories. I was having such a good night that I forgot to take any photo's other than a few drunken selfies in the bathroom of me and the blister!

Our little pup Reg has been a little poorly again so I spent most of Sunday curled up on the sofa with him catching up on Dr Foster and watching movies. We watched Pitch Perfect 2 and The Theory of Everything, two very different movies but both very good. Then we went to my mums for dinner and as always I had to take a picture or ten of the lovely Rosie.

Ah that face gets me every time. She is such a cutie!

As always I got very spoilt this birthday with lot's of lovely gifts from my family and friends. Reggie also brought me a little pressie too. I bet you can guess which gift he got me! lol! I will share a few pics of the clothes & Jewellery I got in my next post.

Normally I am lucky to get 1 bunch of flowers a year but the Husband has been taking the hints well this year and I have already had quite a few. This birthday I managed to get 3 bouquets, which is great as I love having fresh flowers in the house.

Now most people who know me know that I am not a fan of the whole ageing process but I have decided that this last year in my twenties is going to count. I'm not quite sure on the details of how yet but I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for reading. Will post again soon. S x
